Please take care when ordering that you know what size and type of dome you require. If in doubt please ask our advice or alternatively the company that supplied your hearing aids. For NHS hearing aids that would be your local audiology department.
There are four different types of domes available for ReSound and Danalogic hearing aids, RIE Domes, Thin Tube Domes, Surefit 2 Domes and Surefit 3 Domes, and the type of dome you need to order depends on the type of hearing aid wire or tube that sits in your ear canal.
ReSound and Danalogic domes can be used with ReSound / Danalogic receiver wires or ReSound / Danalogic thin tubes. Danalogic is used as a brand name within the NHS for ReSound manufactured hearing aids and tubes, wires and domes are interchangeable between the two brands.
Receiver Wires
For older receiver wires (image below) – If you see a rounder or a square smooth and non-ridged tip like the image below marked ‘NP’ or ‘HP’ please order ‘RIE Wire Domes’. If you see a thin ridged end like the image below marked ‘S’, or ‘HP2’ please order ‘Thin Tube Domes’.
For newer Surefit receiver wires (image below) – If your hearing aid uses a Surefit 2B wire with a metal housing and two ridges please order black ‘Surefit 2 Domes’. If your hearing aid uses a Surefit 2C (metal housing with a single ridge) or Surefit 3 wire (plastic housing with blue or red colour marking) please order grey ‘Surefit 3 Domes’.
(LiNX², LiNX 3D and LiNX Quattro from around January 2015 onwards can use either Surefit 2B or a Surefit 2C wires, they are interchangeable BUT you MUST match the wire to the dome type – Surefit 2B to Surefit 2 black domes and Surefit 2C to Surefit 3 grey domes. One, Omnia and Nexia use Surefit 3 wires).
Thin Tubes
If you are looking for domes to fit onto a Resound / Danalogic thin tube you need to compare the images and decide which one is the same as yours.
Thin Tubes (with three ridges at the tip) are like the first image, and see (in red or blue) a number and a letter, red denoting right and blue denoting left. In this example a left size 2B Thin Tube. Order Thin Tube Domes
Surefit 2 Tubes (with 2 ridges at the tip) are like the second image, and again in red or blue with a number and a letter, but also a coloured line. The Surefit 2 example is a right size 2B tube. Order Surefit 2 Domes
Surefit 2C Tubes (with a single ridge at the tip) are like the third image and direct replacements of both Thin Tubes and Surefit 2 Tubes. They have a single number in red or blue and also a coloured line, no letter. The Surefit 2C example is a right size 4 tube. Order Surefit 3 Domes
Surefit 3 Tubes (with a single ridge at the tip) are like the fourth image and are specifically for the latest ReSound / Danalogic rechargeable Omnia, Nexia and NHS Actio hearing aids only. They have a single red or blue number and either R or L printed on the tip in red or blue. The Surefit 3 example is a right size 4 tube. Order Surefit 3 Domes
NB. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you can see the difference between the types of thin tube / receiver wire and order the correct dome as they are NOT interchangeable. if you use the wrong domes with your ReSound / Danalogic thin tubes / receiver wires you risk a dome becoming detached in your ear and having to ask a hearing professional or local A&E department to remove the dome from your ear canal.
All dome variants are supplied as a pack of 10 domes.
Open domes are available as – Small 5mm, Medium 7mm and Large 10mm
Tulip domes are available in a Standard size
Closed domes are only available as Surefit 3 versions – Small 5mm, Medium 7mm and Large 10mm
Power domes are available as – Small 8mm, Medium 10mm and Large 12mm
If you order the wrong size / type of dome but can return unopened and in a re-saleable condition we are happy to replace with the correct item, however we cannot accept opened packets that we cannot re-sell.
